The purpose of the auditor’s centennial document preservation and modernization fund is described in the state of Washington’s 1989 session laws titled centennial document preservation act of 1989 (chapter 204) which requires the establishment of this fund. The fund shall receive surcharges collected on instruments recorded by the county auditor. The monies shall be remitted to the state of Washington by the county treasurer for eventual redistribution and return to the counties. (Added by Ord. 89-110, Sept. 13, 1989).
