(1) Emergency Repairs. Where equipment replacement and repairs must be performed in an emergency situation, a permit application shall be submitted within the next working business day to the fire marshal.

(2) Repairs. Application or notice to the fire marshal is not required for ordinary repairs to structures, equipment or systems. Such repairs shall not include the cutting away of any wall, partition, or portion thereof, the removal or change of a required means of egress, or rearrangement of parts of a structure affecting the egress requirements; nor shall any repairs include addition to, alternation of, replacement, or relocation of any standpipe, fire protection water supply, automatic sprinkler system, fire alarm system, or other work affecting fire protection or life safety.
