30.41G.037 Design standards-parking and garages.
A cottage housing development shall meet the requirements in chapter 30.26 SCC and SCC Table 30.41G.037(1).

Location of parking and garages |
a) The order of priorities for locating parking or garages shall be in descending order of preference as follows (the applicant shall demonstrate in writing that all other locations within a higher priority are not feasible): |
i) On the periphery of the development as surface spaces in clusters of not more than six adjoining spaces (clusters must be separated by a distance of at least 20 feet) or in a shared garage structure of not more than six adjoining garage doors per building (maximum gross floor area of 1,200 square feet per shared garage structure). |

ii) To the rear of cottage units as a detached or attached one-car garage accessed by an alley. |

iii) To the side of cottage units as a detached or attached one-car garage accessed by a shared or private driveway or parking pad from the rear. |

b) Parking shall not be located between the common open space and the dwelling units. |

Design of parking and garages |
a) Parking and garages shall be screened from public streets and adjacent residential uses by garage doors, landscaping, or other architectural features. |
b) The design of garage structures shall be similar and compatible to that of the dwelling units within the development and have a pitched roof. |

c) Garage doors shall feature windows, recesses, or moldings to help blend the doors with the character of the cottage dwelling. |
