In the event that any animal has bitten a human and the animal control agency has reason to suspect that the animal is rabid, or in the event that the animal control agency has reason to suspect that an animal is rabid, the appropriate officials of the county health department shall be notified and the animal control agency shall coordinate any further activities with said health department.
