Certification shall be provided to verify that the minimum floodproofing and elevation standards of SCC 30.65.110 and 30.65.120 flood hazard protection standards have been satisfied. Certification shall be required only for the new construction or substantial improvement of any residential, commercial, industrial or non-residential structure located in a special flood hazard area. A completed current FEMA elevation certificate shall be required in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulations and standards.
