The building official may require an applicant to perform additional studies, tests, or site investigation to determine or confirm the specific location of an active fault trace and allow for optimal understanding of on-site and nearby seismic hazards, where needed to implement the requirements of SCC 30.51A.030 or of ASCE 7.
