Each county department and elected official office shall draft, implement, maintain and annually exercise a continuity of operations plan that ensures the readiness of the individual department or office and its employees to respond to and recover from an emergency or disaster. The department will coordinate with each individual department and elected office on annual exercises. Each such individual department or office plan and any related procedures will support the county comprehensive emergency management plan, including performance of any tasks assigned therein to the individual department or office. Each county department and elected official office shall update its continuity of operations plan every five years as part of the update to the county’s comprehensive emergency management plan, as described in SCC 2.36.055. The department shall coordinate with and provide each individual county department and elected official office with a form continuity of operations plan.
