In addition to the responsibilities of the corrections bureau set forth in SCC 2.15.030, the bureau shall administer an assigned counsel program and is hereby authorized and empowered to maintain a centrally administered system for the assignment of counsel to represent indigent defendants, to develop criteria for assignment of counsel, to administer programs, and to recommend entry into contracts with private nonprofit corporations offering public defender services.
